In 2014 I poured my heart out into a book which I called ‘Cancer, Chemo and Curls.’ It was a story which had burned within me for years; the story of my time as a teenage cancer patient.
I sent the book out into the world but I knew that something was not quite right. The cover did not encapsulate the spirit of the book. I reached out to an illustrator to design a brand new cover for me, and, bowled over by her vision, the book was re-launched in June 2016. Check out Claire’s work at Aloha Lola Cards.
When you read my book, I hope that you feel surprise, wonder and happiness, and maybe a few tears.
My book matters because it shines a light on what cancer is like for young people. I am here to remind you that cancer can be overcome. Yes, I’ve lost loved ones too, but I want to honour all our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, friends, parents, siblings, grandparents…they are part of this journey, and one day cancer will be no more.
My question for you is, will you join me on this journey, read my book and take a stand against cancer? Buy the book now!
