I’ve mentioned that I was taking part in #CosyReadingNight, so today I’m going to share how the evening went.  It was held between 7pm-10pm on Friday 20th October and you can see my TBR here.

I started things off by getting into the bath!  I like my baths pink and bubbly.  When I was comfy I settled down with The Essence of Malice by Ashley Weaver.  I had about 100 pages to read until I finished the book and I was determined to finish it before getting out of the bath.

I raced through the book but I got out of the bath just before the end, because I was cold and wrinkly by then!  I moved into the sitting room to read the last couple of chapters with my snacks.  I love both of these, the sweets taste amazing even though they have no sugar in them, and the chocolate is milk and white, it’s delicious if a little too Christmassy for October.

You can’t beat a bit of candlelight at this time of the year and my Halloween candle seemed absolutely perfect.  I took some time to check in on Twitter and Instagram with the other readers taking part in the evening, to find lots of cosy photos and posts on the hashtag.  It felt like we were a reading community, sharing our snacks and book recommendations with eachother.

I really enjoyed the evening and would definitely join in again with future #CosyReadingNights.

Do you like the sound of #CosyReadingNight?  Have you tried the treats I had?

  • I love cosy reading night so much, I’m so glad you mentioned it on your blog! I’m definitely going to join in with the next one if I’m not working. It was wonderful to dedicate a few hours to just read and do nothing else.

  • It really was! It’s definitely something I want to do again soon.

  • Aw such a lovely idea – I definitely want to try and join in on the next one! x

  • I hope you can, it’s so fun and relaxing.

  • I absolutely love that Cadbury milk and white chocolate although it is pretty festive hehe! This sounds like the perfect cosy evening, I really miss having a bath! The little community aspect sounds wonderful too!

This is an awesome idea! I definitely want to join in the next time! :-). Your halloween candle looks like it would smell beautiful, and go you for the determination to crack the 100 pages before getting out the bath! Very impressive lady! There’s something so lovely about curling up and reading with snacks and warmth, isn’t there?

  • You have to be careful not to end up spending all evening chatting on social media hehe! Why call the chocolate ‘Winter edition’ and then make it the shape of Christmas trees? Seems like it should be one or the other.

  • Yes there definitely is, I couldn’t do without book time! The Halloween candle is on every night at the moment, it’s a nice light scent.
