Today I’m asking you to think about this simple sounding question, because I want us all to consider what blogging brings to our lives and for that to make us happy.

I can only speak for myself, but I have to admit that this little space on the internet brings me a lot of joy.  It has allowed you lovely people to be in my life for a start! When I wake up in the morning, I feel so excited to think about what post is going live today.  When I feel stressed or anxious, taking a few moments to think about the time I will get to spend blogging calms me down.  As I fall asleep, I often think about bloggy things (please tell me I am not alone in this!).

I can’t believe all of the things blogging has taught me.  Somehow I have taught myself to use WordPress and create graphics and even do simple coding.  There’s something about blogging that makes me feel that anything is possible.  Since becoming a blogger, I have also developed other creative passions; written the first draft of my novel, learnt crochet and published my first book, all because blogging has made me believe I can reach out, achieve my dreams and expand my online brand.  There’s much more to come!

There are some ways in which I can’t truly express what The Lilac Linnet means to me.  It has helped me in ways that I am not ready to share yet.  Most of all I am grateful that I took that step to become a blogger, and I can’t imagine my life without this creative outlet.

Now it’s your turn…. how do you feel about your blog?

Linnet Sig

  • Aww, this is wonderful. I’m so happy for you. xx

  • I love blogging and it has made me grow in so anyways. It has gotten me out of my shell, inspired creativity and made me attempt things I probably never would have years ago. I always say this (and it’s true!) my blog is the best gift I have given myself!

  • YES YES YES! My blog has allowed me to really be myself and learn to love life even more. I love working on new things, collaborating with people, getting to know others and expanding my creativity. My blog makes me happy and is there for me as an outlet when I need it most. Great post!

  • I love this post, Llinos. Like you, I love that I have a creative outlet and I love that I’ve met so many like-minded and awesome people through it, who I would never have met without it. It’s taught me a lot, and I think it’s something that’s really fun to have as a kind of online diary that I can look back on in years to come and see what my life was like at certain points.

It’s definitely evolved since I first started, and I think that’s great because I’ve changed too and it reflects that.

  • Aw thanks xx

  • Anna

Funny thing just happened. I got here by accident. I read what you’d written and I love it. I am pretty anxious about my own blog sometimes but seeing someone being so positive, confident about it helps me remember why I started it in the first place. Thank you 🙂

  • I love that perspective Anne – the best gift to yourself.

  • Thanks Emelia, sounds like we are on the same wavelength!

  • Thanks Rosie, yes our blogs are ever-evolving like us and it is going to be fab to look back at from the future!

  • Oh that’s lovely, thanks so much Anna. I would love to visit your blog if you could give me the link?

  • Anna

    Thank YOU 🙂
Oh, that’s so sweet of you! Well, it is all in Polish 😉 I write about Islam and eastern culture since it is being wildly misunderstood in Poland and I happen to speak some Arabic and travel to Middle East a lot. I just love how complex it is, I’d love others to see it. So here it is:

Thank you again, you made my day.

  • Love this. I feel very similar to blogging as you do… and it’s brought me a lot of joy. Thank you for sharing!

  • I love this! My blog has challenged me to pursue photography and to be creative. I would never have thought myself good at taking food pictures, but I think I am pretty good at that now. I also know that it’s become a creative outlet for me, and I love that!

  • Hi, Lilinos. Blogging is still relatively “new”to me, however, I have found a voice in my blog and I love to share my creative journey with those who read it. I have begun “To See” rather than look at my environment and this has opened up a whole new experience for me in my creativity which lead me to Photography, which I am also enjoying, in addition to being a creative entrepreneur.

  • Great blog, I used Google Translate and you have such interesting content!

  • So glad you enjoyed and related to it!

  • This is so great to hear, Kristyn!

  • Sounds really amazing, thanks for stopping by!

  • Anna

    Wow, that’s amazing 😀 Thank you <3

  • I think it’s so wonderful that blogging has inspired many other creative pursuits for you!! I think blog has definitely helped me live a more creative / fulfilled life, and I’m really grateful for that! xxx

  • It really is isn’t it! xx

  • It’s so nice to hear how much your blog has meant to you. I love having a creative space that I can share my thoughts. It’s nice to have somewhere to jot it all down!

  • It really is isn’t it!
